Summary
Flyer advertising Summit pens. Written in English on the front and Spanish and French on the back, it features a photograph of 'Mr. Summers' who is quoted saying 'A fountain pen is not a motor car...and yet in many ways is very similar. For instance it has to be "run in". This means making sure that the ink has had time to "run into" all the parts'. The flyer is dated 16 December 1946.
Donated to Museum Victoria with a collection of material reflecting the economic life of the donor's parents, who lived in suburban East Malvern, in south-east Melbourne.
Physical Description
Small single page flyer on newsprint promoting Summit Pens. Printed in black ink on off-white paper, the advertisemnt features a man holding a pen alongside the quote 'A Fountain Pen is not a Motor Car'. A logo of a jagged mountain summit made of pens arranged vertically appears at the bottom. The back of the flyer repeats the front text in Spanish and French. The flyer has three vertical creases, and is slightly rumpled.
