Summary
Photograph of a woman and children in front of a house called 'Lorreto', at 340 Edward St, Brunswick, around 1897. (The house still exists, opposite Clarke Street, although it has been re-numbered.) The photograph came from a collection of material from Miss Elsie Storie. Elsie's parents, Francis (Frank) Storie and Adeline Knott, moved to 'Lorreto' in the year of her birth, 1894; it is likely that the photograph depicts Adeline and Elsie, and Elise's brother John Francis (born 1889).
Part of a collection of paper-based ephemera relating to the life of Miss Elsie Storie, a middle-class Melbourne woman who was born around 1895, lived through both wars, and remained in Melbourne all her life.
