Summary
Medical booklet that belonged to Miss Elsie Storie of Brunswick, later of Canterbury. She lost a cousin and other friends in World War I, and became involved in home front activities during World War II, aged in her 40s. The booklet covers a syllabus including 'Some duties of a nurse', 'Dressing and washing patients' and 'To administer an enema'. Elsie has written in notes about a turpentine poultice.
Part of a collection of paper-based ephemera relating to the life of Miss Storie, a middle-class Melbourne woman who was born around 1895, lived through both wars, and remained in Melbourne all her life.
