Summary

Kodak Camera Club Melbourne lapel pin, issued about 1964, to former Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd employee, Bill Byron. He was an active member of the club since its reinstatement in the early 1960s by Kodak employee Roy Porter.

Bill worked for Kodak for over 25 years, commencing at Abbotsford in 1956 in Kodachrome customer service. He later moved into quality control, before leaving the company to work in the motion film industry for 9 years. He returned to Coburg in 1975 and worked there in various roles, again relating to customer service and technical services, including industrial photography.

This object was donated as part of the Kodak Oral History Project. It complements the Kodak Heritage Collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
