Bottle of Sloan's Family Liniment in a cardboard box. It was sold to relieve a broad range of conditions including muscular rheumatism, chilblains, cramps, muscular fatigue and mosquito bites.
Sloan's Family Liniment was advertised in Australian newspapers between 1919 and 1952. The imagery on this example suggests it dates from the earlier 20th century. This example was made in Australia.
Physical Description
Clear glass bottle with square sides and black plastic lid. The paper label, printed in white on cream, features the image of a man (head and shoulders) with a large moustache. Contains a small quantity of thick, pungent orange liquid. The paper label is torn along lower edge and is peeling away from the glass. Contains product approx. 20mL. Combustable.
