Physical Description

Stapled booklet of 64 pages with heavy paper cover in black and white and dark red. The booklet celebrates Melbourne, the Olympic City in 1956, in text and numerous black and white photographs and maps of Australia. Articles describe the carrying of the Olympic Flame across Australia and include descriptions of Melbourne, all the capital cities, the landscape, agriculture, industry and sport. The front cover shows a black and white panorama of Melbourne city while the back cover shows a view of the rugged Victorian coastline. There are many black and white photographs inside recording Olympic venues, including the MCG, as well as photographs taken in each State.
