Summary

Photograph of the wedding of Sarah Nairn and Arthur Jackson in 1911. Sarah's brothers are seated on the left; William Nairn, later killed in World War I, is second from left, and his brother Dave is on the far left. The women on the right are unidentified, but one of them may be her mother Mary.

Sarah and Arthur Jackson had three children - Mary, Henry and Arthur - before Arthur died tragically in a farm accident. Her two oldest children were removed by authorities as she struggled to support her family by playing violin, but she regained them when she married again - for convenience - to a widower with his own family.
