Summary
HMS Renown was a British Battlecruiser (1916-1948). The Duke and Duchess of York, Albert and Elizabeth, sailed in 1927 to Australia and New Zealand as well as Madagascar, Polynesia, Panama, Gibraltar and Malta on it's world tour. This handkerchief records this event.
It belonged to Emily Hannah Francis, of Garden City, and was part of a collection of 145 souvenir and commemorative handkerchiefs put together by Emily, sent to her by pen friends from around the world, up to her death in 1943.
