This patriotic handkerchief was produced in the United Kingdom during World War II. It features the Coat of Arms of the British Expeditionary Force, the name given to the British Army sent to the Western Front in Europe, in 1939 and 1940.

It belonged to Emily Hannah Francis, of Garden City, and was part of a collection of 145 souvenir and commemorative handkerchiefs put together by Emily, sent to her by pen friends from around the world, up to her death in 1943.
