Summary

Red and white printed linen handkerchief with embroidered poinsettia.

It belonged to Emily Hannah Francis, of Garden City, and was part of a collection of 145 souvenir and commemorative handkerchiefs put together by Emily, sent to her by pen friends from around the world, up to her death in 1943.

Physical Description

White linen handkerchief with printed red squares forming check design. Side panel contains an embroidered poinsettia in red and green silk with drawn thread stem. This panel and the whole hankerchief edging is machine finished in red cotton.
