Summary

This pocket handkerchief features a printed garden scene border with flower beds, paths, hedging, bird bath and a stream.

It belonged to Emily Hannah Francis, of Garden City, and was part of a collection of 145 souvenir and commemorative handkerchiefs put together by Emily, sent to her by pen friends from around the world, up to her death in 1943.

White rayon handkerchief with machine stitched edge. Features a printed garden scene with garden paths in three corners and a bird bath in one. Many-coloured tulips and forget-me-nots form a border.
