Summary

This embroidered yellow cotton handkerchief belonged to Emily Hannah Francis, of Garden City, and was part of a collection of 145 souvenir and commemorative handkerchiefs put together by Emily, sent to her by pen friends from around the world, up to her death in 1943.

Physical Description

Yellow cotton handkerchief with finished edge, embroidered with four sprigs of flowers, one in each corner (red, green and yellow cotton). A larger, more complex motif in one corner features additional pale pink, pale blue and white cotton flowers.
