Summary

This embroidered green cotton handkerchief belonged to Emily Hannah Francis, of Garden City, and was part of a collection of 145 souvenir and commemorative handkerchiefs put together by Emily, sent to her by pen friends from around the world, up to her death in 1943.

Physical Description

Green cotton(?) handkerchief with rolled edge, embroidered with four sprigs of flowers, one in each corner (red, pink and green cotton). A larger, more complex, motif in one corner features additional white, yellow and pale blue cotton flowers.
