Summary
Printed postcard featuring a photograph of a soldier writing a letter, with an inset photograph of a woman looking wistful. Text above begins 'For Love's Sake'. The postcard was sent by Private Will Nairn to his mother Mary on 5 May 1918 from Codford, Wiltshire, during World War I. He indicates he wants her to live with him and his wife Eileen on his return from war 'and be happy for the rest of our days.' Sadly, he was killed three months later, in the trenches of France.
