Summary
Postcard featuring image of Jesus at a table and the words 'I am the Bread of Life'. Written by Private William Nairn to his mother Mary Nairn in Victoria from Westminster, London on 26 March 1918, during World War I. Following a theme in his other correspondence, Will writes' Pray for me Dear Mother that I may be given strength to resist all temptations in this sinful world'. He was killed in the trenches of France on 4 July 1918.
Physical Description
Postcard featuring a full-colour image of Jesus standing at a table, hands open, radiating halo above, in front of a cup labelled 'JHS'. The words 'I am the Bread of Life' appear below, above a stem of blue flowers. A small blue circular motif at lower left has number '207' below. The edges of the card are scalloped near corners. The card is hand-written in ink on back. The front of the card has extensive foxing.
