William Nairn later served in World War I and was killed in the trenches of France in July 1918.

Postcard with Christmas card design on front, printed in full colour. It features a painting of a snow-covered house, a spray of flowers, gold cut-work at top and bottom and a Christmas greeting. It is printed as a postcard proforma on the back, over-written in hand-writing. The postcard has extensive foxing.
