Summary

This handkerchief features a floral print of brown pansies. It belonged to Emily Hannah Francis, of Garden City, and was part of a collection of 145 souvenir and commemorative handkerchiefs put together by Emily, sent to her by pen friends from around the world, up to her death in 1943.

Physical Description

Fine cotton handkerchief with rolled edge in brown thread. Features a printed yellow border edged with garlands of large brown pansies, with smaller purple and yellow flowers. In the centre is a scalloped wreath of purple pansies accented with a few brown pansies and a yellow centre.
