Pair of cream felt boots. Used by staff at the Australian Antarctic Division. The boots were probably issued from, and returned to, a supply depot.
Provided to Museum Victoria by the Australian Antarctic Division in 2007 for in an International Polar Year display at the Discovery Centre, Melbourne Museum.
Physical Description
Pair of cream felt boots. Each boot is constructed from four pieces of woolen felt overlocked together. The boot is fully lined with identical felt. The heel is reinforced with white woven synthetic fabric, and there is a small flat woven cotton tab on the ankle stamped with the number 5.
