Summary
Pair of snow boots, Acton brand, labelled 'Chimo'. Used by staff at the Australian Antarctic Division, the boots were probably issued from, and returned to, a supply depot.
Provided to Museum Victoria by the Australian Antarctic Division in 2007 for in an International Polar Year display at the Discovery Centre, Melbourne Museum.
Physical Description
White synthetic fabric and rubber soled snow boots, unworn, still with tag and sticker. The upper is made from a woven white fabric which extends to the shin. The boot is secured by laces, which are attached to the upper with fabric tabs and plastic rings. The sole is constructed from white moulded rubber, which extends over the toe and heel.
