Summary
Photograph of dendroglyph (carved tree) taken near Gunnedah, New South Wales. The author Alan Marshall had advised B. Wongar to travel to this area of New South Wales in the 1960s in order to investigate these carved trees. Wongar explained that whilst 'traveling through northern N.S.W. though an area which I was told by my mentor Alan Marshall to have "many tree trunks marked by the Aborigines", I located some of them near Gunnedah, turning from Newell Highway and heading northward. Trunks of an old tree, partly striped of bark and carved could be seen from the road'.
