Summary
Photograph of Bob or 'Bobby' Secretary (1929-1984). Secretary was a Larrakia traditional owner for the Darwin area and was a well-known Aboriginal activist. In 1971 Secretary raised a 'Larrakia flag' on the Supreme Court flagpole in order to draw attention to his traditional rights to the region. After years of political struggle an area known as Kulaluk was secured for Aboriginal communal living purposes in suburban Darwin in 1979.
