Summary
This photograph depicts a meeting between the author Alan Marshall (on crutches) with a group of Russian seaman in the early 1970s. Long-term peace activist, Aboriginal rights campaigner, Communist Party supporter, academic and author 'Aunty' Mollie Bayne had arranged for the seamen to meet Marshall. Marshall was a well-known and highly regarded author in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR). B. Wongar is pictured second from left.
