Wooden model of a coal shovel, associated with the one third size scale model of steam locomotive C1, designed and built by the Victorian Railways at the Newport Workshops in 1917, and issued to traffic (launched operative) on 9 March 1918. It had a tractive effort of 38,400 lbs (170 kN). It was dismantled on 10 August 1961, having completed 1,155,167 miles of service (1,859,061 km). The model was restored by V-Line in the 1980s.
The shovel has been lying loose on top of the coal in the locomotive tender.
