This view shows the front garden layout, designed by renowned landscape gardener Edna Walling. Their home was designed by prominent society architect firm Butler and Martin.

Edgar Rouse was a managing director of Kodak Australasia from 1928, and later succeeded his father John Joseph (JJ) Rouse in 1938, who was a co-founder of Baker & Rouse and then a founding managing director of Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd.
