Summary
This footstool was made by Doug Kite using kangaroo hide. It was first started while he was at his stall at the Berwick Market in circa 1990. He paid $5 for the base. He worked on it sporadically over a number of years, as there were many other braiding items which distracted him from completing it. The foot stool was finally completed in 2016.
Part of the Doug Kite Leather Braiding Collection which consists of handmade leather braided products, hand tools and works in progress made by Doug Kite from 1984 to 2016. The Collection also includes oral histories, video and photographs. The Collection was featured on the ABC Landline program on 7 August 2016.
