Summary
Poster promoting Kodak Gold II 35mm, 100 speed colour roll film as part of the 'Australian Made' Campaign. The slogan demands consumers 'Buy the only Australian made film' but there is a disclaimer that it is only Kodak Gold II, no other speeds of Kodak Gold roll film, that is manufactured in Australia. Kodak Gold 200 and Kodak Gold 400 were both manufactured by Eastman Kodak Company.
The advertisement features a freckle-faced child with blue eyes and fair hair as a representation of 'Australia' or the Australian Consumer, with the 'Australian Made' logo also featured.
This poster comes from a collection of Kodak campaign material kept by former Kodak advertising agency Catalyst. They worked on Kodak promotional campaigns from 1992-2000, and were the principal agency for Kodak Consumer Imaging from 1995/1996. Catalyst was headed by John Skinner, formerly of Kutt Skinner Bennett and Berry Currie Advertising - agencies that also worked closely with Kodak.
This collection of marketing material complements the Kodak collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005 when the Melbourne manufacturing plant closed down.
Physical Description
Rectangular glossy colour poster with black background and large photograph of a child in centre and images of a Kodak film pack and the Australian made triangular logo beneath.
