Edgar, his wife and their daughter had taken a world tour in 1950, leaving Melbourne on the ship the 'Aorangi 'on Thursday 26 Jan 1950. They first visited New York, in the USA, where they were the guests of Mr. Rouse's sister, Marjorie Lucey, and no doubt Edgar conducted Kodak business at Kodak headquarters in Rochester, upstate New York. After three months in the United States the group went to London and Europe.
Edgar Rouse was a managing director of Kodak Australasia from 1928, and later succeeded his father John Joseph (JJ) Rouse in 1938, who had been a co-founder of Baker & Rouse and then a founding managing director of Kodak Australasia Pty Ltd.
