Person Depicted
Mrs Marjorie Lucey, née Rouse, Greater Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, June - July 1934
Marjorie Lucey and Winnie arrived in Sydney on the ship, the Monterey, according to the Daily Telegraph, Tuesday 19 June 1934, page 11. They stayed at least until July that year. See Sydney Morning Herald, Tuesday 26 June 1934, page 4; Australian Women's Weekly, Saturday 14 July 1934, page 23. While the Luceys apparently also visited Australia in 1930, Winnie appears too old in this photograph for 1930 to be the date of the image, so 1934 seems more likely. -
