Summary

Black camera case with leather strap for the Kodak Instamatic 700, circa 1963-1966. The case has a screw lock in the base and opens to allow the camera to be used whilst still inside the case.

The Instamatic camera range was a series of inexpensive, easy-to-use and easy-to-load cameras with built-in flash capacity, that were first launched in 1963. The range proved to be immensely popular and was in production for over 20 years.

This object is part of the Kodak Heritage Collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
