Summary

Colour photograph of a male worker adding a doctor to an emulsion melt kettle in Building 3 (Emulsion Making) at the Kodak Australasia factory Coburg, February 1993. The doctor being added is the first layer of the yellow dispersion melt and is being drip-fed to percolate slowly, the melt will later be added to the emulsion via a hopper. Behind the worker are pre-measured doctors that will also be added to melt, not all of the containers shown with be added to this particular kettle. This image was taken by Kodak staff member Don Pitkethly and printed for display at the Waverley City Gallery but was possibly never exhibited.

This photograph complements the Kodak Heritage Collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
