Summary
Colour slide of a man examining a strip of film under a microscope in the Roll Film Department, Building 4, at Kodak Australasia's Coburg factory, circa 1980s.
The operator is checking 16mm Kodachrome movie film, probably for perforation accuracy.
One of several colour slides originally housed in a cardboard box with a label address to Tonia Mercadante, Consumer Finishing. Images in the box are mostly of the Film & Paper Finishing Department, including workers and views of the Coburg site.
This object is part of the Kodak Heritage Collection of products, promotional materials, photographs and working life artefacts collected from Kodak Australasia in 2005, when the Melbourne manufacturing plant at Coburg closed down.
Description of Content
Man wearing a 'Film Dept.' laboratory coat and examining a strip of film under a microscope. The slide appears to have been created using a half-frame camera as the image is repeated, but with slight differences within the same slide.
Physical Description
35mm, positive colour film mounted in a cardboard slide frame.
