Summary

This is a model of a dugout canoe and ones like this were made to sell to the mission store. The Methodist Overseas Mission sold artefacts through their own outlets in the southern states.

Physical Description

A model canoe made from a single piece of hardwood and painted with natural pigments. A diamond pattern is painted across the centre of the hull. It has a length of vegetable fibre string strung through holes at each end and the ends tied together.
