Summary

This painting relates to the sacred waterhole called Mirarrmina and depicts a human figure identified as "Wunju, a headman" standing next to guluwirri, the sacred palm tree. Dhapalany, a centipede or "itchy caterpillar" as it is commonly known, can be seen in the lower register and is often found amongst these trees. The dots in the background are rain falling. This is a segment of a larger epic story relating to the travels of the Wagilag Sisters.
