Summary
This painting depicts the sun shining on the shallow waters at low tide. The footprint is that left on the edge of a mudbank by the spirit of a departed ancestor. The divisions mark the sandbanks and the patterning is the ripples created by a slight breeze on water between the mudbanks. The reflection from the sun on still water is said to be indicator that someone has just passed away.
