Summary
This painting depicts a barramundi caught in one of the saltwater flats on the mainland opposite Milingimbi. The rarrk or crosshatching surrounding the fish is the tidal flow of the sea, and the bands of crosshatching at the ends are banks of the creek. The barramundi seasonally feed on the shellfish amongst the mangroves.
