The woman on the left is holding a rolling pin in both hands on a flattened piece of dough/pastry. The woman on the right is holding a basting brush in her right hand, which is brushing the surface of a pastry, and a stainless steel bowl in her left hand. There are three large trays in the foreground; one containing dough, one containing flour, and another containing what appears to be sliced apples.
