Summary
This painting, 'Fish hunt', depicts a man with spearthrower and spear as well as large fish and two smaller fish, the one with whiskers most likely a catfish. It is a very distinctive work with the strong feature of linear patterning on the fish and the background lines painted with white pipe clay. It is by the well-known bark painter Lipundja 1 and most likely painted in the late 1950s. It depicts a hunter with the spear and spearthrower used to catch the guyu (fish).
