Summary

Italy, single, 90 lire, with an image of the Italian flag shaped to look like the letter I. This used stamp was collected by Beryl Adams as a tourist. Beryl Adams came to Australia as an assisted migrant from England on the Orient Line SS Oronsay in 1959. She then travelled back to England to visit family in 1967 on the SS Arcadia, and returned to Australia in 1968 on the SS Oriana.

This collection comprises of approximately 180 objects that relate to shipboard life and international travel for leisure in the post-World War II period. The items detail the voyages of Beryl Adams, initially as a new migrant to Australia, a return visit to the UK and her return to Australia. All three voyages were made on the P & O / Orient Line ships; SS Oronsay in 1959, SS Arcadia in 1967 and the SS Oriana in 1968.
