Summary
The stone in this axe is set into the wooden handle with resin. The handle is secured with vegetable fibre string wound around it below the stone head. The donor Lindsay Walker obtained this hafted stone axe from another collector, Harry Balfour, in 1943. However it is most likely from the early twentieth century.
