Summary
Carved wooden Echidna by Warakurna artist Molly Malungka Yates. Warakurna is a remote community situated on Ngaanyatjarra Lands in the Rawlinson Ranges in in Western Australia. The community has a long history of artistic expression and Molly is renowned for her acrylic paintings, tjanpi weaving and sculpture, and punu (wood carving). The echidna is the most widespread native mammal in Australia, in Central Australia, it lives in mainly rocky environments.
