A ground edge axe with split wood handle with pointed ends. Handle is hafted to axehead with resin and bound with bush string. Axehead is decorated with a background of white ochre and covered in red and yellow ochre dots. Red ochre coating over handle. MATERIAL: wood; resin; stone; sinew; ochre. TECHNIQUE: flaked; pecked; hafted; polished; painted.
