Physical Description
Circumcision knife made of green coloured glass point flaked on both sides producing a neat and uniformed serrated edge tapering up to a sharp point. This is hafted by resin to a small flat wooden inserted handle. The mounting resin and wooden handle have been coated in red ochre which also has white dots and black bands, which are badly faded. A paperbark sheath protects the delicate point. TECHNIQUE: flaked; hafted; cemented; carved; painted. CONDITION: Ochre and designs faded from use; tip of glass point chipped.
