Other Details: The fiftieth anniversary of the ascention of Queen Victoria was celebrated with enthusiasm throughout the Empire. This medal was one of many issued by local governments to commemorate the occasion. It was issued by the Municipality of Deloraine, Tasmania. Deloraine is a Tasmanian rural community exactly half way between Launceston and Devonport. It was founded in the 1820s and became a municipality in 1863.
