Summary
One of a series of photographs taken by Museums Victoria staff photographer Ben Healley as part of a project to document the experiences of Hotel Quarantine in Victoria during the COVID-19 pandemic. They captures the experience of mandatory quarantine for one family and the doctors, nurses, security personnel and hotel staff supporting and caring for them. Here a nurse prepares to visit quarantine detainees and attend to their medical needs. The facility cared for extremely diverse needs, with some detainees experiencing withdrawal, cancer and other chronic illness, along side day to day medical needs.This room, normally a function centre within the hotel became the control room for medical and support staff.
