Summary
This model is of a CF Bedford ice cream van, which travelled the streets of Melbourne in the 1970s. The originals were made in Australia by Holden, using one of their engines.
It was made by local model maker Michael Molesworth in 2000 for the `Melbourne: Stories from a City' exhibition at the new Melbourne Museum. It was displayed until the exhibition closed for redevelopment in 2007.
Physical Description
Plastic and wood white and red van with moustached figure inside. Open window with soft serve ice cream depicted on left hand side and packets of pink fairy floss on right hand side. There are coloured lights above the window and a miniature Melways map book on the dashboard.
