Summary
Kiln Spatula used by artist Martha Ash, circa 1996. Martha Ash was born in Poland in 1920 and lost all her family in the Holocaust. She came to Australia in 1949 where she studied ceramics, sculpture silver smithing, enamelling and glass mosaic. This particular spatula was used to remove larger fired work from a kiln. Martha Ash died in September 1996.
Physical Description
Large metal tool with wooden handle and metal spatula end. Metal part of hand is welded onto the flat spatula base.
