Summary
Jar filled with multi coloured glass pieces used by artist Martha Ash circa 1996. Martha Ash was born in Poland in 1920 and lost all her family in the Holocaust. She came to Australia in 1949 where she studied ceramics, sculpture silver smithing, enamelling and glass mosaic. These pieces were used as part of her glass mosaic work. Martha Ash died in September 1996.
Physical Description
Small glass jam jar with metal lid partially filled with glass pieces. The lid is gold coloured with black printing and the glass pieces contained inside are green, yellow, red and brown. Most of the glass pieces are tiny chips, several are larger pieces.
