Summary
Wire Mesh used by artist Martha Ash circa 1996. Martha Ash was born in Poland in 1920 and lost all her family in the Holocaust. She came to Australia in 1949 where she studied ceramics, sculpture silver smithing, enamelling and glass mosaic. This piece of mesh was used to sit larger pieces requiring firing in the kiln. Martha Ash died in September 1996.
Physical Description
Large wire mesh stand used in the firing of enamel pieces in a kiln. Some fired globules of metal enamel remain between the wire mesh. Sides of mesh are bent under to form legs.
