Summary
Metal Tool with a hook on the end used by artist Martha Ash, circa 1996. Martha Ash was born in Poland in 1920 and lost all her family in the Holocaust. She came to Australia in 1949 where she studied ceramics, sculpture silver smithing, enamelling and glass mosaic. This tool was used in the enamelling process probably for use with the kiln. Martha Ash died in September 1996.
Physical Description
Metal tool with wooden handle used in enamelling process. Tool has long thin metal rod extending from handle, rod is hooked at the end and a circular metal guard is attached to the wooden handle to protect the hand.
