Summary
This jacket was designed and manufactured in Melbourne by Prue Acton P/L circa 1986. The paisley range designed by Prue Acton and Merrill Clarke around fabrics purchased in Germany. According to the donor, shoulder pads were a typical feature of women's clothes, such as this, in the 1980s, often associated with the 'Corporate Woman' look.
Physical Description
Long woman's jacket consisting of many panels of fabric from the 'Paisley' range. Colours are predominantly forest green, navy, turquoise and burgundy. Patterns include paisley, floral and zig-zag. Jacket has inset pockets at both side seams, no fastening at the front and two overlapping collars in different fabrics. Sleeves are dropped-shoulder kimono style and lining is navy coloured cotton. Shoulders are padded.
